Tonight I had the following smokes while playing poker:
Montecristo 2003 EL -- I've had a number of these before, and was pretty unimpressed -- at a friend's urging, I decided to revisit them (it's been about 4-5 months since I had one). It actually is smoking much better now, I enjoyed the cigar significantly more than I remember enjoying past smokes from the same box. Revisit this baby now if you've been disappointed by it in the past, it's gotten much nicer. Nubbed it.
Opus X Reserva de Chateau 2003 -- What can I say, I absolutely love the Opus X flavor; it was noticeably sweeter while at the same time spicier than the Monte EL. Nubbed it.
Cuaba Exclusivo 2001 -- (that's the year I was told, a friend gave it to me there) this little baby started off nice, but it was relatively boring. Not unejoyable, but not great either. Tossed it with an inch or so left.
Graycliff Espresso 2004 -- this is a great cigar, but it's not a cigar for everyone. If you like bitter chocolate, or espresso coffee (no sugar please, don't defile the espresso), you will love this cigar. For others, it may be too strong/bitter. Nubbed it.
At this point, my taste buds had been deep fried by the Espresso, but it was worth it.
All in all, I'd say I enjoyed all of the cigars about equally, for different reasons, except for the Cuaba... that wasn't bad, it just wasn't exceptional as the others were.
Oh yeah... I was up $80 at one point playing poker.. ended up losing $5. Oh well.
