While reading "10 great Petite Coronas" in the spring 2005 issue of Cigar magazine, one cigar picture looked familar, but the name did not. So, I went to my coolidor and there they were, 3 Plasencias. The band, color and size were right on, so I'm sure they were the TKO Maduros on the list. I got them from JOE.M in a sampler purchase.
The 10 petite coronas included some pretty good cigars, so I fired one of these TKO's up.
The first few puffs showed a bit of sweetness, then came a rush of heavy pepper. This little corona has to be one of the most peppery smokes I've tried, but not harsh. It burned well and even throughout, and gave a little kick despite it's small size.
This smoke doesn't have the complex flavors of another cigar on the list (PAN '64), but if you like a spicy smoke, this one would be worth a try.
As for value, I have no idea how much these are or where you can get em.
