I'm not sure how many of you subscribe CNet's online newsletters, but today they sent a link to some clever photo software that if downloaded today, it's free...normally $19.99. I tried it out and it worked taking out a time stamp & obstructions in a few photos. Pretty cool...
Too much spam for me, Gary. Even after unchecking the free tool bar and the PDF creator options during install, I was still stuck with an "application manager". I uninstalled the whole shebang and am running Ad Aware now.
On the left side, you'll see the web address for the company in a box...click on that and it brings you to the company website where it tells you that the software is free today. I ran Norton 360 on the file and it came up clean with a unblemished history going back over two years.
You are right and I am wrong....I made a breathtakingly "noob" mistake. I clicked on the huge green "DOWNLOAD" button to the right of the screen and was promptly attached by the spam monster.
Don't put shiny flashing objects in my field of view....it screws me up, every time....
