FRIDAY FACE OFF SAMPLER 09/26
A few weeks ago, we ran a Friday Face off sampler where we lined up two manufacturers products and let them square off for dominance. Needless to say, it was a huge success and one hell of a value to boot. So, we thought we would revive our little weekend rumble this week and bring you cigars from two of the hottest manufacturers in the business today. We're talking about Rocky Patel and Pepin Garcia. Mentioning these names in room full of cigar smokers will start a torrent of conversation about how good their products are. Each brand posses a unique flavor and strength, but both are tremendous premium smokes.
First we've got some Rocky Patel Vintage 1992 Torpedos. This Vintage by Rocky Patel uses a 10 year old Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper that has a beautiful oily sheen with a full bodied, spicy flavors. The combination of 7 year old Nicaraguan and Dominican fillers add an element of complexity, richness, and balance to this all-star blend. This cigar is box pressed and the construction is flawless!
We also have some Havana Soul by Pepin Garcia Toros made in his Miami factory. Havana Soul is rich and full-bodied, with notes of brown butter, nuts and chocolate thanks to it's oily Corojo '99 seed wrapper grown in Nicaragua. The Cuban triple-layered cap construction is flawless. The draw is effortless as you would expect from this masterpiece. This cigar has a very Cuban-esque flavor.
