Well, Pete showed up last Thursday with the owner right when they open at 10:00 am. I was lucky enough to have a cool boss that let me slide out and be there shortly after they opened. When I got the event, just Pete, the owner Bill, and the manager also named Bill were there. I had never even seen a picture of Pete, so I was suprised to see that he looked like just an everday Joe just like you and I. The word very approachable comes to mind as well as easy to talk to when I think back on it. Pete is a very nice down to earth guy, you'd never know that he has experienced the success that he has in the last few years. It was fun to listen and see his expression brighten when I asked him about how he hooked up with Don Pepin, and how Tatuaje was born. I brought a box of Conoju 2003 for him to sign, which he did. The first thing he did when I handed it to him was open the box so that he could inspect the contents for construction/color. He really worries about quality control, and vendors that buy cigars second hand, not caring for them properly. He does not want anyone buying dried out cigars thinking the product is not worth all the buzz. To meet Pete Johnson will definitely go down in my book as a great time, great experience.............Helluva guy on a first impression.

Edited to say: I did hit him up for a Black Label, but unfortunately, he forgot to grab some before going to the airport.... At least that's the story he gave me.
