This was a gold color label and had Cabinet, La Tradicion Series "P". I am pretty sure this is the "champagne" when I tried to look it up on CI website. It was part of a sampler pack from CI B&M. On CI, this stick looks to be had in the $7.59 area. I am sure that price will vary. If I am off on the info, please let me know so I can re-edit.
It had a very nice prelight aroma. I cut about a quarter inch from the end and it was a clean cut with no unravelling. There was a slight wrapper blemish about two inches above the cap but it did not affect anything. I squeezed the foot gently and it bounced right back.
The draw was perfect and had thick smoke from the draw. Even my fiance' remarked that the aroma from the smoke was rather pleasant. The burn was even and it had tight, light gray ashes.
The taste for me didn't kick in until about 1/4 done. That was a litle perplexing, but ok. But once it did, it was really good. Mild but had a complexity about it. I cannot put my finger on it (or should I say, my palette!) The taste stayed with you for a bit afterward and it had you craving for more. I guess that is a good thing!
It went very well with Korbels Brandy. Korbels is one of those cheap, hidden gems. Brandy for me used to be a little on the bitter, harsh side. Korbels can be had for about $10 a bottle and it's real smooth and even better on the rocks. It went well with this Perdomo and I am sure it will do good for others.
I am by far no expert, but I would recommend it for that after dinner drink experience. I will be looking for more of these.
Thanks for looking at my review!
