After a long day of working in the yard, running the dogs in the woods, smoking a huge amount of garlic cloves and doing some housecleaning, I sat down at 11pm and had a great cigar!

I had just grabbed the first cigar I saw in my desktop humi, and what a choice it ended up being- in more ways than one! It was a Perdomo Reserve La Tradicion Series P, in maduro(? - it was awfully dark) and what a treat. It was a pleasant looking cigar, well constructed and very aromatic. The clip was made, the light was flawless and the first draw revealved an easy draw, but not too easy. And the flavor was there... right from the start. And while I was sitting out in the fading daylight, I realized something. All this time, I had been trying to figure out the flavors of the cigars I was smoking. Was it cedar? chocolate? coffee? earthy tones? What I realized was this- I DON'T CARE! I dont care what the flavors are... only that I liked them! And this was one I really enjoyed. Something about the aftertaste was great... but again I have no idea what it was, only that I want more of it.

The burn was even, the ash was a darker grey and held on nicely. The draw stayed even and nice to the end, and the flavor never wavered- never got stronger and never got weaker. I was not a strong cigar in its' "power", and I would rate it medium in strength. It also had great volumes of smoke... easy to savor when there was so much smoke to blow!

Overall I would rate this a great cigar- a perfect end to a beautiful, sunny and productive day. And best of all, I realized I've been looking too hard for the secrets behind the cigar- I just need to enjoy them more without racking my feeble brain trying to figure out WHY I like this one or that... I have no idea what made me come to this, but it just whacked me on the head while I was enjoying this 'car. I'll be buying a box of these!

Nice review. I tend to be the same way. I know what flavors I like. I don't try to dissect the cigar anymore, just enjoy it w/ a nice breverage and time to think.

:D Great review. This is more of the type of review I can relate to. My taste has not developed yet to the point of most of the reviews. So I like it when I see others. I don't know what it is but I like it. Nice :D

Exactly the way it was last night- I started at 11:20pm and didn't finish until after 12:30! The night was still, the dogs, Mary and my neice that's living with us for the summer we all long asleep. The neighborhood was super quiet and I had a nice, big strong Capt'n Morgans and Coke... I may make that a habit, it was so enjoyable!

Maybe I was raised in a bubble, Why would u smoke garlic cloves?

Oh man... you gotta try them. And no, they are not hard to light... If you like roasted garlic at all, these will blow you away!

Seriously, I smoke tons of stuff... jalepenos, cheese, salt, fish, red peppers, ribs etc... but my favorite is garlic. I'll get a couple of bags from costco and smoke-roast every last one of them. They make everything better- I just made Caribou chili with some of my smoked jalepenos, red pepper and garlic and oh my god! it just changes the flavor so much for the better.

but I suppose it's an aquired taste... I love damn near anything smoked. Might be bacause of my job?? My poor smoker gets a hell of a workout every year.

Smoked garlic is great!!!!!! just give it to me smeared on some lightly toasted bread rounds and I am in heaven :D :D

Bumping this because I had my first one of these tonight. It really was a pleasure. I have found myself enjoying the perfectos and figurados more lately anyway.

And the red cello made for a festive holiday touch. Smoked it down to the nub without any overpowering spice at the end. Good to the last puff.

Yup,

Very nice review. I live for those experiences where my left brain just shuts up and the right brain takes over.

I'll be seeking one of these expereinces when my semester is finally over.

Swissy, what kind of wood do you smoke the garlic with? What wood do you usually use to smoke other things with?
