Perdomo Fresco - Maduro - Toro
This took place last thursday. I enjoyed this cigar at my favorite B&M and with a friend I took to get into cigars so this trip was not only enjoyable, but fun. The Perdomo Fresco really impressed me for what the price is. I personally got a lot of milk chocolate sweetness with the undertone being the tobacco base. This cigar had a consistant flavor throughout, and this cigar really creeps up on you. The smoke was smooth, creamy, thick enough to play with and quite rich. The draw was pretty loose, which I don't generally appreciate in a cigar, but the taste made up for it ten-fold. Overall a great cigar for the price, for $2.20 a stick I'll definately buy more! I really enjoyed it with my friend who at that time was smoking a Perdomo Lot 23, and he said he was getting a lot of coffee bean flavor out of it. My friend is now turning into a cigar smoker!
Punch Gran Puro
This took place last night. It was about 11:00pm when I decided I wanted a cigar to cap off the night so I fired this baby up! I got a lot of leather flavor out of it which I don't mind, but I don't particularlly like a real leather taste. Being a puro this cigar was very consistant of flavor from inch to inch, but it was very one dimensional. The smoke was of a lesser density and it had a medium finish. After about the second inch into it I decided to put it down, this cigar while having a consistant flavor didn't have the flavors that I like. I prefer a sweet flavor of a chocolate, coffee or sugar flavor, this cigar produced just a leatherly flavor which isn't really in my likeable taste profile. Anyway, this cigar didn't impress me very much and if anyone asked me about this cigar I'd say if you like the taste at the beginning then you will like this cigar and enjoy it. I just prefer if a cigar changes and is dynamic like that or just a better taste to me at a consistant flavor. I think I paid around $6-7 bucks for this stick and as far as the Punch Gran Puros go, I don't think I'll buy another one. I do; however, have another punch churchill waiting for me in my humidor so I'm willing to give it a try not soon, but in time.
New accessories!
I just bought a new Lotus Torch lighter and I really like it! I paid around $50 for it and for the job it does it's well worth the money. It's a single flame torch so it uses a moderate amount of fuel, and provides very ample heat if set properly.
Well these are all the updates I have so far. I am going to my favorite B&M this week with that same friend just getting into cigars probably Wednesday, I'll keep you posted.
