Pepin's new My Father Limited Edition

I just received my first shipment of Pepin's new My Father Limited Edition, blended and rolled by Don Pepin and his son, Jaime, alone. They come 12 to a box, with each box numbered, and each cigar comes in it's own individual coffin. Also, the box comes with a DVD inside...which I can only assume is a video of the factory and of the 2 of them rolling the cigars. Price is $215 per box, or $20 per cigar. If anyone's interested, let me now. Thanks.

Honestly nothing wrong with that (sounds like a CF22 to me), just had to take the opportunity for an xzibit troll.
 
Sweet, now Pepin is jumping into the overpriced, super limited release craze so we can all pay extra for fancy packaging. Awesome. :angry:

I haven't smoked it yet, but according to everyone that has, it's mind blowing good.

And one opinion was given to me by a manufacturer/owner.
 
Oh HELL YES I have to have a box.....:laugh:

The "My Father 1922's" are one of my favorite smokes.....no kidding. The comments on these are pretty fantastic.....worth having, I'll bet.
 
I have a drawer full of empty coffins, tubes, and DVDs that are worth nothing. The cigar in them were great, but without all that crap, the cigars might have cost me $5 less per stick. Give me the good cigars with all the hoopla and bullcrap.

You mean like a Padron FR 45 or 45 for $25 a stick? No fancy packaging and I STILL say they're worth every penny.

Sure. I wouldn't have a problem paying $20 for one of these Pepins if they are good enough. But if I could have the same cigar for $15 minus the coffin and the DVD, I would much prefer that. I'm not sure with the cigar industry getting hit as hard as it is with taxes, economy, bans, etc. that is the best time to be inflating prices with fluff.
 
Not sure why this pushes folks buttons so hard. Fuente takes OpusX's and puts them in coffins and poof, its a CF fun box.....with many of the same cigars you normally buy in a fancy coffin. No one freaks out when they come out with their Promethius humidor sets, like most of the people that would buy that don't have a humidor / cabinet already.

At least in the case of these Pepin's and in the case of the Padron smokes, you're getting something you can't get otherwise.

I don't know why this was the one that finally pushed my button. I guess I've just come to expect it so much from Carlito and Pete, that it doesn't phase me, but Pepin was one of the last guys who hadn't fallen into that craze yet. Like I was discussing with Izzy via PM, I guess I'm just at the point that I'll stick with good, everyday cigars (like Pepin's blue label), that I can get a full box of for the same price as a limit box of 10 cigars in a coffin. I had the same reaction when I saw the latest Carlito/Prometheus BBMF humidor also. Make a good cigar, put it in a normal box, charge me the lowest price possible. Now I'm going to head out to smoke a BBMF, and use the coffin to light my fire pit because it's chilly here today. :laugh:
 
I'll bet we don't disagree all that much. In my cabinet amongst all the fancy stuff, there are two boxes of Pepin Blue Labels, at least one box of Padron 2000's, etc. I just look at the packaging as the price of admissioin. Much like the fancy bottles of booze that come in the crystal bottle in the velvet lined box.....a manson jar would be fine with me......:laugh:

To me it looks like they are corona or corona gorda sized, in which case I'll have to get some. It took me a while to warm up to the My Father line, but I bought some Cedros Deluxe corona gordas and they changed my mind.

Hey Isy, are these offered in only one size or multiple? I saw on another page that they will be offered in toro size, just unsure if it's the only size.
 
Any body want to do a 3er / 4er?.. Just would like to try, you keep all that fancy stuff.

Really would prefer a 3er x 4 times. pM if we can work this out.

ETA: Isy- after going back and reading the OP, am I understanding correctly that you are also offering these in singles? $20/stick?
 
I would be up for a split perhaps... half a box... the person who gets the main box and dvd pays more ;)
