Wow! what a beauty.
I was fortunate to acquire two 98 boxes of this discontinued cigar. Today, on my chaise lying next to the pool, overlooking the valley that houses one of the best golf courses in San Diego, I decided to bust one out.
Wonderful looking cigar, dark brown wrapper, a hint of two veins and a well crafted triple cap. I snipped the cap with my Xitar took a suck and thought man this is going to be good - it did not disappoint.
I toasted the foot with my Blazer Micro Torch and fired up the stick. The draw was just right - once lit I blew into the cigar to clear the shitties and away we drifted into taste cigar heaven. From the first draw I was knocked back into my chaise with a wonderful fruity earthy taste, good thing I was lying down.
This cigar was far better then the 898 V, I felt a little disappointment that these are no longer in production. Why stop producing such a great cigar?
I was looking for fault throughout the 1 hour 10 minutes it took to the nub but found none. The burn was 100% even all the way down. The draw was just right with the right amount of smoke. Every now and then I blew smoke out of my nose which enhanced the fruity and sometimes cedar taste that remained consistent throughout.
With about 1.5 inches remaining I got into the pool because I needed to cool down. I waded to the deep end holding my smoking hand high out of the water to where we have a love seat. Sitting in the water with my smoke hand sticking out over hanging the negative edge of the pool I enjoyed the remaining minutes with this wonderful smoke - can't wait for another!
