This is my first Review and I am glad to be doing it on such a great cigar .

Here it goes,IMHO

Cigar:Partagas Lusitanias
Size: 7 5/8 x 49
Shape: Double Corona
Wrapper: Light brown colored, smooth to touch and firm
Pre-Draw: very easy, and spicy

I cut it with my Colibri V-cutter, I toasted the foot , which had a sweet cedar smell, then I lit it with my Colibri Duece lighter, lit up very nicely and even.

The first draw was very spicy with a peppery note, I thought wow this is going to be a powerhouse, after the fist few draws the peppery taste mellowed and it became mild-medium, very smooth and creamy and left the palate feeling cool ( as in a hint of mint, more like spearmint)just a hint.
About 1 ½ in down it started having a nutty taste with some cedar notes and creamy still leaving the palate feeling cool.

I knocked the ash off at 2”. The ash was grey and black striped look, and firm.

Around 1/3 of the way down the nut and cedar notes became stronger with maybe a hint of sage, and creamy, still leaving the palate feeling cool.

The burn was perfect at this point.

At ½ way mark the spice and peppery taste returned, but mild the cigar did however turn a little more to the medium side never losing its cedar and nutty notes, still leaving the palate amazingly cool, and very creamy.

I knocked the ash off again at about 2 “.The ash was still grey and black striped look and firm.

Around 2/3 of the way down the peppery taste became a little stronger and the cigar became more medium-full tasting, still maintaining its nutty and cedar notes, leaving the palate cool almost refreshing, I would say.

I knocked the black and grey striped ash off again at about another 2” and it was still firm and burning perfect.

I smoked this Great smoke down to about ½ inch before I nubbed it out and it had become full flavored and peppery with about 1” left to go, never got hot. The Burn was perfect right to the end never once losing its straight line.

In my honest opinion this was one of the best cigars I have ever had and I hope that someday I will be able to enjoy another one!!!!

Thank You Joe for this awesome smoke Brother, it was truly and enjoyable experience.

I would rate this Cigar a 9.5 out of a 10 !!!

Great review!! Not one of my favorite Prominentes but these are a pretty darn good cigar. Your review is spot on with my observations with this cigar.

Nice review! I have never tried one, but you made it sounds pretty darn tasty. ;) Might have to try to get my hands on one. Thanks for sharing!

Great review, Lions. I recently had the opportunity to enjoy one that had a little time on it and found it to be a benchmark cigar.

I look forward to more great reviews.

I just had one of these with the SoCal crew on Wednesday night and it was just an incredibly good cigar. Perfect construction, excellent burn, complex flavors that had just an incredibly long finish. My favorite prominente, it has just the right balance of flavors and strength. Slightly stronger than the HdM DC and slightly lighter than the BCG.

Nice review! I've smoked one of these. It was badly plugged. Hoping to try another in the future.

Same here, the little bit of taste and smoke I got out of it promised a great cigar.

Sadly I had to throw it away.

I've had a number of these gifted to me. IMO it's one of the finest cigars on the planet. Unfortunatly half of them have been hoplessly plugged. I wouldn't take a chance on spending my own money on them.

Doc.

You guys that had the plugged ones, by chance do you remember what the box codes were on these?

If this is the cigar I was gifted by a very generous BOTL, it was a fantastic smoke. I didnt have any burn issues or any hard draws. It was definitely worth waiting to try IMHO.

Very nice review. I have 5 of these sitting in my humi. Your review just made my after dinner smoke selection for me!

Sorry CC, I have no idea about the boxcode. I just ordered a bunch of singles. Sticks I really wanted to try. Perhaps I should have let mine rest for a longer time... ??? Generally I have smoked very few Churchills/Prominentes/Double Coronas and others of the same size. Naturally there are many I'm eager to try one day, including the Lusi.

Great review
Had one of these a little while ago, I really enjoyed it.

The plugged one I had was rolled in 2004 Bill, hope that helps.
