I'm not going to mince words here. The Lusitania was a dead-on, phenomenal cigar. Better than the 85' RyJ Churchill I had. Better than the DeSilvio. Even better than the PAM's I've had (and love). Probably the best smoke I've had to date. Bold statement.

I don't know if the cigar God's were shining down on the roller of this monster, but it was out-of-this-world-great. Construction was flawless, ignition came easy, burn was perfect and as cool as I've ever had. Two inch ash throughout.

The cigar had nice hints of Citrus, leather, and earth building to a smooth and pleasant cocoa finish. I actually found myself enjoying the post cigar taste in my mouth, which is rare. Definitely the least harsh cigar I've ever smoked. You could pull as hard as you pleased on the Lusitania and not get a hint of bitterness, right to the very end.

Sadly, I have feeling that this was one of those "on" ISOM's, much like the first Monte #2 I smoked, and I won't find another quite like it (much as w/ the Monte.) I can dream though, and if I do find these to be consistently on par w/ this particular smoke I'll be splitting a box w/ myself, that's for sure.

Great review on the Lusi Mr. Bones.
Always wanted to try that stogie......and now even more!!!!!!! :)

If you think the Lusi was a great DC, you gotta try an SLR DC sometime or a VR DA. ;)

Lusi's are indeed nice cigars when aged. I have smoked them at different ages and vintages. The best was a 98 Lusi. I personally wouldn't smoke them any younger than 4 years. The upside for a aged Lusi is much higher than the return for smoking them young. Kudos for smoking an on Lusi and an on Monte #2. You are pretty much ruined now!

Truely a phenominal cigar. The '98s are excellent. A very different profile from any other Partagas I've smoked.

Soooo... where did ya get that stick Tony?

Lusitanias are excellent "little" smokes. I wouldn't go so far as to say they're the best I've had but they're definitely tasty.

Glad you liked yours so much. Any cigar worth that much enjoyment deserves

I've only had a few that were off. BUT DAMN! When they are on they are a favorite.

had one last night...whatching the flames kick the crap outta tampa in game 1.

these are '00 and i completely agree with emodx...at 4 years they are just coming into there own...the last 3 inches started to show some young cigar lip sting.another 3 or 4 years should see these blossom into a real good smoke.

derrek :)

I just had one tonight. While it was a nice smoke, and burned nicely, the draw was a bit firm, and I never ended up getting the volumes of smoke out of it I wanted :(

I smoked one of my RAG's today. That's another DC you have to try if you enjoyed the Lusitanias

They have that typical RA "kick" which is a little more peppery and flavorful than the Lusi.

As I mentioned before be sure to try:

Vegas Robaina Don Alejandro
Saint Luis Rey Double Corona
San Cristobal de la Habana El Morro

I prefer all of these and the RAG's over the Lusitanias ;)
