A true pyramid. I have smoked many-a-partagas-black and enjoyed them all. This was special to me in the fact that they just got them in at the tinderbox and usually only carry the robustos and gigantes. As soon as i saw it i knew i had to give it a go.

Partagas cigars (i mainly smoke the black) have always been super consistent. The cool thing about this cigar is the shape. the cigar looks very nifty and looks to be a fun smoke.

Prelit draw was a little bitter but so are many cigars. That would not make me count this one out. And as suspected... after about 5 minutes we were nice and smooth. The taste is exceptional on this cigar and very cedary, leathery, and earthy. The sheen on the wrapper is magnificent and oily. You actually see the wrapper start to dry up just around the ash as it crawls further towards the head of the cigar.

The 60 RG took a very long time to burn down. I would say that the quality of the partagas black is exceptional and very nice to look at as far as construction goes.

The cigar's "burn speed" (as i will call it) sped up quite rapidly as the RG decreased (physics). The flavor really started to turn out and the draw got much more open (which this nerd tends to like).

The ending was spicey and hot. This is exactly what i come to expect from the Partagas black. The nub becomes soft and warm. The oil from the wrapper rubs off onto the tip of your fingers and it is as intimate experience as you can possibly have and want.

Thanks for reading!

Great review.
It sure look like a strong cigar,I have to try this bad boy sometime soon.
It look like the shark in shape.
Thanks.

As pallets develop, usually CP members abandon the General/Altadis smokes. There are a few exceptions though. I loved this cigar when I first started smoking-- I think I should retry it and see if it'll be one of my exceptions. Thanks for the great review!

You absolutely read my mind. I am in no way trying to bash this review, the OP's taste in cigars, or the cigar itself but I'm smoking a Partagas Black Clasico as I type this and, to be completely honest, I'm not sure why. My last three experiences with American-market "Cuban label" smokes (Montecristo, Punch, and Partagas) have been forgettable at best. Ah well, different strokes.

You know I have never had a Partagas black they do look good thanks for the review rp

The mind of men guys gave them a very favorable review. I personally think they are nice as well, especially for the price.

Nice review. I like Partagas as well, but haven't had a black in awhile. I'll have to grab one next time I'm in the shop. If you like'em smoke 'em.
