Well, I decided to try a partagas black label for the first time. It was "OK" nothing to write home about.

I was a little disappointed with the burn quality...wasn't even. Started out with a little earthy tone and then got real woody in the middle. Near the end it was a little bland. Of course, Im tainted with my love for Padrons.. ;)

But it was still a good smoke overall. But I can say that I probably won't be building up any sort collection of partagas black labels anytime soon.

Out of a 10, I'd give it a 5.

Started smoking the Black Label line when I was searching for a good small smoke and started with the Black Label Prontos. I love them, and decided to try some of the larger sizes. I went to the local to pick up the priamide size and they were out of them so I picked up the Maximo in the metal tube, which is the latest addition to the line. I really enjoyed the Maximo, almost effortless draw, beautiful burn, excellent flavor with not a hint of harshness. A terrific smoke.

The next week the local got a shipment of the piramide and picked one up, and to tell you the truth I was disappointed. The draw was tight, the burn uneven and not at all impressed with the flavor.

So, while the piramide was not impressive, I would deffinately buy a box of the Maximo tubes. Whup, try another size and see what you feel about the Black Label line as a whole.

Mike,

Thanks for the feedback, you bring up a good point. I shouldn't judge all Partagas black label on just the one I had. I will try a Maximo tube and let you know how it goes.

the bravo is very good, lots of flavor! The maximo is very good, but get ready for a full cigar.

I like the black label line though!
