I was going to write a nice review with pics and all but, .......................................................................................

Unfortunatelly I was never before so unimpressed / dissapointed with a cigar that has a price tag in this range :(

I hope some of you had better experiences with this stick

I haven't tried it, doesn't sound like I will.

Sorry for the bad experience.

Ken

I've smoked over a box of these. I liked them myself and I found as I got to the end of the box, the cigars had a little spicy/peppery taste to them. But not everyone will like them.

My sentiments as well. I think they're a pretty good $6.00 stick.

agree. very bland. for 20 bucks a stick i will take a esg

Sorry to hear about the bad experience Dan. I'll have to agree with you on the 160. I had one a few days ago and it was ok but I was expecting alot more. Very uneventful. :(

I'm wondering, with all of the reviews and press on the 150's being what it is, why would you be expecting alot from the 160? I just figured this would be as bland and un-impressive as the earlier money grab, so I have ignored it.

Dude. Do you like any premium cigars? Every post I see you make is derogatory against a cigar that most of us would think was great. I like the 150, I like the 160 and I really like Opus and Anejo but I'll sure tell you what, none of us here would smoke a swisher for any other reason than a dare.

Alot more goes into some of these cigars than just tobacco. Learn to appreciate the art of the cigar. I think you just don't like anything that costs more than your budget. WHich is fine, but treat yourself right sometimes and splurge on yourself at least once a month.

I am just confused by the posts I see you make sometimes.

Atuck, good points all. I guess it depends on what you call premium. I am a giant fan of the Hemingway line, Padron Anniversaries, Don Carlos line, many of the Davidoffs, and many of the Cuban lines . I'd call them all premiums. I just do not like Opus, I think the Anejo line is so-so, except the 55 which I think is wonderful.

Budget is not an issue, I think I speak as I do because I try to be honest through my eyes, and tastebuds. I do not chase hard to finds, because I DO NOT collect and those hard to finds that I have found have generally been disappointing to me, except as I have said, the padron Millenium. I bust stones on things because cigar BB's are pretty darned boring if everyone says "yep, that (insert cigar name here) is the greatest thing I ever smoked". I have an opinion and I give it. I appreciate the art of the cigar immensly, I have books, collect art, and consider this my number one hobby. What i don't appreciate is what i consider the ripping off of the consumer. Now, I do not assume to try to convince others of this opinion. I express it as mine and mine alone. I think F/N is ripping folks off with the GoF and Forbidden series, that Ashton is ripping folks off with the ESG, that Davidoff is ripping folks off on the 100th anniversary stuff, that Padron is doing it with the 1926 and will do it BIG TIME with the 80th, and that General is ripping us off with the 150 and now the 160 etc etc.

I know there is a niche for these cigars and their price tags. I just like to point out that in MHO there are 6 dollars cigars out there that are better than the 20 dollar ones. I'm not trying to impress anyone with what I smoke, I smoke what i like and I have seen too many younger guys on these boards try to keep up with folks just to say they have X also and they get into $$$ trouble doing so.

I'm just another voice, and if you have read my stuff on CF for the five years I posted there you will know that my opinon is often contrary to the conventional wisdom. But my opinion is honest and only my own.

Specifically to the 160. My question there was an honest one, and not one meant to cause trouble, although I probably could have left out the term "money grab". :) What I read over the years about the 150 was that it was generally a flat, milder cigar that was not widely considered to be worthy of the pricetag. With that being my knowledge base, I asked the question I did. I know that there are folks who like the 150, and great for you that you do. I was just curious as to why there would be high expectations considering the fact that the pre-cursor cigar was not widely regarded as a classic.

It is great to get to know you better and to understand where you are coming from  . I can appreciate your HO better now that I see your tastes do actually include some great cigars  . From what you said, I doubt that you really smoke swishers. ;)

I belong to CF but don't post there too often as I consider CP home and I like the format here so much better. ANd now knowing you have been on CF so long I can certainly understand and respect your HO better. I know you CFers can be a little tough sometimes.

But I must say, If you keep bragging up on those swishers, I will keep talkin shit. :sign:

Get a room!
:sign:

Nice to see differences worked out so well and so quickly.

LOL, I remember now where I made the swisher comment. That was my attempt at a witty metaphore.

Wouldn't touch em, but I have been known to chain smoke Backwoods while chasing fish in the surf

The format here is aboslutely better. In fact everything here is better!

Agreed. It's so much nicer on boards where people are willing to rationally explain their statements and others are willing to rationally listen to them, as opposed to many that devolve into horrendous flame-wars, which accomplishes nothing and prevents any further intelligent discourse.
