From Box # 670 out of 1000. I've saved this box for only special occasions so I had high hopes. Fortunately I was not let down. Measuring 40 x 6.75, the wrapper was a beautiful golden color with an almost perfectly smooth tobacco. The cigar was consistently firm and the double cap was done to perfection. Upon smelling the foot, I got a wonderful aroma of sweetness like Cocoa.
Upon lighting it, the initial flavor was smooth yet full bodied. The draw was a little tighter than I like but I still got a full smoke. Once I got about an inch into it, the draw eased up and the smoke got very creamy and rich. For almost all of the rest of the cigar it burned perfectly and the flavor stayed rich and delicious. When there was a butt the size of my thumb nail, the flavor was still wonderful. All in all it was a fantastic cigar. Partagas really knows their cigar biz.
The occasion was my BIL's B-day so it worked out perfectly. We enjoyed them with some 16yr old Lagavulin Scotch. What a great combo. A true celibration.
