Sabor Havana Cigars

Why is your store called "Sabor Havana Cigars" if you don't sell any Havana cigars?

OK, does anyone really have the story about this new vendor? I think CC mentioned in another thread that he's heard some good things, but I think if there are a few folks out there that can vouch for this guy then we'd all feel better.

Or I guess for that matter, Gabriel, would you care to give us a little introduction of sorts and let us know a little about your store and history? I've got a feeling in the back of my head that says that you're probably allright, but one of these days I'm going to be wrong and get shafted big time.

Thanks.

edited to add: a little more about you besides that top25 article.

I can let you know in a few days, I took the plunge and ordered some sticks from him. If they get shipped out today I should have them tomorrow.

Well guys first off let me translate Sabor Havana Cigars for you "The Taste Of Havana". Being of Cuban decent, its a way of paying tribute to my ancestors.

As for me, I have been in this industry for 11 years. I spent my first five years working at Miami Cigar & Co., distributors of the Aurora, Leon Jimenes, Don Lino, Africa and Tatiana cigars.

From there I spent another 5 years working as the operations manager for La Gloria Cubana and ran the factory in Little Havana. I worked as an apprentice under cigar master Ernesto Perez-Carrillo.

Now I have come full circle form working for a distributor, to a manufactuerer to owning a retail store.

If there is anything else you guys would like to know, just ask.

Thanks,
Gabriel

I ordered a box from Gabriel yesterday and it's already been sent out via FedEx, I'll post again when it arrives, but I don't see a sign of anything but a reputable dealer.

That's great. I see that Cuban pride is very much alive and well among descendants. It sort of reminds me of the Italian community and paying tribute to our homeland. I know circumstances are alot different for Cubans since the country is under such a hard ruler right now. Hopefully things can change and the embargo lifts. It would be a great day for all people of Cuban heritage.

I was down in Miami a couple of weeks ago and looked up a few places, this being one of them. Here's the article I found that prompted me to go there:

Sabor Havana

I wasn't able to shop much, as my wife was getting ticked off cuz she had the girls out in the rental car, but it seemed like a nice place. I've read on some other boards that they host a regular, weekly herf, as well.
