I have often wondered to myself, why are some cigars so expensive?? Are $30, $40 cigars so much better than one that costs $5. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. The Padron Millennium was one cigar I wanted to get ever since really getting into this hobby(obsession?). Thanks to Sam, I was able to get 5 of these amazing cigars.
Such a beautiful cigar. Almost no veins present and perfect construction. Bunch looks a little loose at the foot and when I clip the cap and take a dry puff, my suspicions are correct. A slightly loose draw. The dry puff revels some coffee and vanilla notes.
I torch the foot and take deep puffs. The smoke is coming a little too freely for my liking, but I can immediately tell this will be a fantastic smoke. The smoke is so thick and chewy it is hard not to be mesmerized by it leaving your mouth. It is very smooth and velvety. Also, the finish is incredibly long throughout the cigar. Lasts for minutes on end in-between puffs. Rich cocoa bean flavors are mixed with a strong, dark coffee undertone. The cigar burns like a dream and has no problem staying cool even with multiple puffs at a time. A real treat of a cigar.
At the half-way point, it is still incredibly rich with coffee, toffee, and a little spice. It also picks up a little power and it is now more full-bodied. It is so creamy and buttery it is almost unbelievable. Did I mention this cigar was incredibly rich  ! The cigar is like a desert at this point. All these rich and creamy flavors makes you feel like you are stuffed....and I am not exaggerating. As I enter the last third....it takes on a more nutty undertone. Almonds and honey are presented lightly to go along with some more spice that has picked up in the last couple of puffs. I really don't want to let this cigar go out. It is like a decadent desert that you can't get enough of!
Overall: 96-97 and the best cigar I have ever had! Wow.......this was such a great smoke and most certainly worth every penny! The only real complaint was the somewhat loose draw. While I couldn't nub it a la Mr. Peat and OpusXKC......I got it down to about half-an-inch and it burned the hell outta my lips.
I am sure there are quite a few better cigars out there, but I imagine this will be my top cigar for quite a while. If I had the means to smoke this everyday......there wouldn't be another day that went by in my life without smoking at least one. Everyone should treat themselves to at least one of these fantastic cigars in their lifetime
