$40 for a 45th? Really am I the only one that thinks that is crazy high?

You can find 45th's for $240-260.00 a box (10) all day, so do the math.

Having said that, i can honestly say that the 45th's I've smoked have been among the finest, best tasting, best constructed smokes I've ever had.  It's a splurge that never disappoints.

Make no mistake - If I had the jack, I'd smoke two every day.  Period.

In all seriousness, you may want to work up to a cigar like this.  Going from flavored cigars to something like a high end Padron may not be the wisest idea.  Tom's right, there are few better cigars out there than this, but the strength and complexity it packs on a newer palate may make it an unpleasant experience.  You're free to do what you like of course, just something to think about.  Maybe try a couple Padron x000 to get a sense of what this cigar might be like.

Maybe get 2. Smoke one, keep great notes on what it was like. Take the other and put it in the experiment box. If your notes are good enough from the first one, you'll be able to do an excellent compare and contrast.

I wouldnt add it to that box... but why do you say that? because of the dead sticks? in there already

The Padron 45th is a super premium stick that is near perfect don't try and change it. Plus at that kind of money you would hate to waste it!

I would never try to change it.... Why do you say that? My (science experiment) Is not in my humidor... LOL the only thing in the humidor is the Punch, Cohiba, Monte Cristo, and some new sticks Jonesy Sent me. No flavor infused or fruit punch flavors added. LOL

I think the only time I may have actually LOL on this thread was you pointed out that it wont taste like fruit punch.

Not to mention I work in a bodyshop painting Mercedes Benz all day, and if any of you have ever painted cars or been around it at all, mask or no mask, you have the luxury of breathing some fantastic shit all day.
If spray paint is cheaper than a cigar, stick with the paint. I tried one of these, and I suppose you need to try one also. Then you need to see if you can taste $40 worth of a smoke versus a La Flor Domicana Cabinet Maduro #5 and actually taste the difference. Myself, I could be in love all year with a Liga Privada #9, but I can afford the Padron 3000 much better.

I could survive on water and ramen noodles, but every once in a while I like to treat myself to scotch and a steak.   Nothing wrong with treating yourself on occassion, and looking at it as just that.   If it's about the cost, and not spending money, you might be better off finding a hobby that you aren't setting on fire.    I love a Padron 3000 just as much (or more) than the next guy, but a rare, fantastic, and sometime expensive cigar is nice to have every once in a while.

I agree with that statement, Every yr when we go to rhode island I stop at the cigar shop/lounge directly next to our camp ground and pick up a few sticks, I think this yr maybe just the occasion to grab a hold of a """$40""" Stick.
