Wrapper: Nicaragua
Binder: Nicaragua
Filler: Nicaragua

Strength: Med – Full ( would say more Med but I have been smoking a lot of full flavored smokes this weekend)

This is a limited production run given to me at the last cigar party by a buddy I Herf with (Thanks) saying this was one of his favorite cigars and he wanted me to do a review so as promised here it is!

The look : This is a box pressed cigar so the first thing you see is the shape nice square very smooth wrapper with a few veins running around this nice oily looking wrapper it felt a little soft when squeeze. Clipping this cigar even with my el chepo cigar cutter it cut clean. The pre light draw was very easy almost to easy ( I was worried it would smoke out to fast and get hot more no that later) the foot of the cigar looked very well packed as you can see. Full of goodness and skill.

The burn : This cigar light up very easy and burned even through out it would get a little jagged but would correct itself. The entire smoke I never had to touch it up and produced a nice solid ash.

Flavors: Before lighting this cigar gave off a grassy flavor. But after lighting up it gave a nice nutty flavor with some spice this cigar gave off plenty of soft creamy smoke to enjoy. As I got to the halfway point I started to get more and more spice. And as I expected with the light draw the cigar did start to get hot but not to the point I had to put it down burn yet. As I got to the band the cigar was getting hot and starting to get bitter and harsh due to the heat. So at that point I called it a day.

Conclusion : I do not blame Padron Brand I just leave it up to me getting a hold of a loose cigar out of the batch and I would be happy to try and other one some time. Overall it was a good cigar it was a nice medium smoke that would be great for times when you want something mellow but not to mellow. Now back to my CAO Brazilia.

thanks rp

If I could afford it, I'd smoke Padron Anni's everyday. I love that silky smoothness and rich flavor. Usually I experience a very full and easy draw. One thing I have come to expect with Padron is the great consistency among construction...I can't honestly say I have EVER had a dud or any Padron that has not been completely consistent with all others of that particular line. Everything from 2000's to Executives, Ambassadors, and Anni's.

Great review, it's a helluva smoke.

Sorry you had a less than stellar experience with your '64. I think they are one of the very best the industry has to offer. From Londres to the Millenium and 80th the Padron family rolls consistent and wonderful smokes like no other. I'm with Jake; I'd smoke a '64 torp every day if I ever win the lottery.

Of course, if I won the lottery, it'd probably be Milleniums......somewhere in the Caribbean.....on my island.....sitting on my yacht.....

Cheers - B.B.S.

Nice review.

Coincidentally I smoked an exclusivo maduro 1964 yesterday. On the right day, probably the best cigar for me, from all the Padron marca's

BTW, unlike B.B.S, I would take 5 young women to that island and forgo the cigars.

....I like your style, Brian, but Ms. B.B.S. would take umbrage with that idea. To say the least.....

Thanks for the review. Sorry it wasn't all you hoped for.

Sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with a 1964. I have found them to always be well constructed with no major issues (besides shipping damage). I highly suggest giving anyone of the Maddies ago round, I doubt you will be disappointed twice.

I had my first PAM about 2 weeks ago. At first, I was wondering if maybe I didn't have the good taste to appreciate it. But it wasn't too long before I realized I was in the midst of a glorious experience. I just kept looking at the smoke in wonder. Needless to say, I nubbed it -- and I don't nub smokes very often.

I believe I had the Exclusivo and I have a few other sizes to sample -- looking forward to trying them all. Someday there will be a box of these in my possession. Just not sure what size yet.

Yeah I think I am going to have to pick another one up some time and give it another try like I said it was just bad luck and apparently very rare to get a bad one. rp

I've smoked probably 4 of these in my short cigar smoking career(2 1/2 years) and I thoroughly enjoyed each one.
