Ok as some people read before (click here) I had a problem with the last 1964 I smoked. So I this weekend I picked up two more at the local B&M and here is what I found out.

Wrapper: Nicaragua
Binder: Nicaragua
Filler: Nicaragua

Pre draw was perfect this time (last time was very loose) with a very good pre draw flavor . The wrapper was perfect smooth with very few veins.

The burn: this time it was nice and even not to fast to get hot but just right. I was a happy camper. Last time the Smoked burned a little jagged this time it was great.

Flavors: As with last time pre light draw was grassy. After lighting the cigar took on a great nutty flavor with a little spice to it. The cigar stayed consistent through the entire smoke. This time the burn was perfect and the flavor was good all the way down past the band.

Conclusion I am very happy I picked up a few more of these. Thanks to all who said they never had any problems with the Padron. It was a good smoke and I look forward to another one.

This may be an indication that the first one you tried may not have been kept properly. I've found that sometimes trying a cigar 2-3 times is a good way to finally guage how truly good it is overall. :)

Glad you liked it and nice quick review.

Good point. To add to that...

When you buy from a B&M, they usually over humidify their cigars and depending where the humidifier is in their unit, some cigars will be wetter than others.

As a rule, and I know that patience is difficult at times, let the B&M smokes rest in your humidor for at least a week. If you are impatient, dry box the cigar/s for 2 days.

Thanks.

I put the cigar in a drawer, some may use a box. The RH in my house is +- 52. Naturally if your environment is higher, it will not work.

Glad you enjoyed this Padron, there are easily my favorite NC out there. As far as the 40th goes, it is an amazing smoke. Welcome to the club.

Both great points made here. I suppose everyone already said it, but just to put in my 2 cents.

I find with the few 26's I have smoked that they must bbe stored in house for a month or so.

Probably true with every cigar, but I notice especially with these and VSG.

Any weigh in on if this is because of the naked factor?
Just my pennies...

Glad I read this. I have 2 1926 40th's and a 1964 that are setting in the humi at 65%. Just got them this week. I was thinking about having one on Saturday but I may wait now to let them sit a bit.
