Here's some info on an upcoming anniversary cigar from Padrón (reposted with permission):

The 40th anniversary cigar will be part of the 1926 line in a 54RG and a 6" or 6 1/2 " length Torpedo. It will be sold in boxes of 10 cigars. Padrón hopes to present it at the RTDA and plan on getting it into the hands of retailers by September/October

That said, get in line. No one buys a box before me!! :D

I kinda wish they'd used a custom blend of some kind, but oh well...

Moki,
Just curious as to how rare these are going to be? And when will they be ready for sale?

Now Now Boys ...Let's all play nice.
I'm sure Barney's going to share...as will Moki. :D

So except for the value of the box there isn't any difference between these and the 1926's? Great if they release larger quantities but so what if it is as limited as the 1926's are.

Yeah, it is a bit of a let-down that the blend will be the same. Ah well...

So basically it's a '26 in a different size? Sounds like they didn't try hard on that smoke.

Yeah, it's a little disappointing... but still, worth a try.

A simple blurb about Padron's RTDA 2004 releases:

Next week in Las Vegas, at the Retail Tobacco Dealers of America trade show, the company is unveiling a new cigar, the Padrón 6000, a torpedo that will be available in natural or maduro wrapper. And soon the Padróns will release their limited-edition 40th Anniversary cigar, an extension to the company's Serie 1926 line.

bah -- 400 humidors with 40 cigars each... for just another shape of the 1926s? I can't get excited about this one... I mean I'm sure they are good, but... I'd need a special blend (hopefully something nice and strong) to get me worked up. :)
