I've just stocked these at my shop and I was itching to try one for a week. After running through some bad lucks by trying new shipments right out of the box, I've decided I'll let these sit in my humi for at least a week before lighting one up! Well, that week is up and I grabbed the Lancero without hesitation. My favorite viola!
The wrapper was dark and oily with smooth texture..So beautiful, I almost didn't want to torch it! I held it up and took a nice whiff, and WOW, this thing smelled amazing! I had to resist myself from taking a bite out of this one! I'm pretty sure the taste wouldn't have disappointed me by the way it smelled. LOL~
I took my xikar and circumcised the cap ( Learned this from Ginsengs post and works great~ ). As I was preparing to test the draw, the thought of Monte2 ran through my mind. But the draw was perfect giving me a sigh of relief. What came after that was pure pleasure~
As I lit the cigar, my first impression was its spiciness. Very similar to Tatuaje Especiales that I smoked not too long ago. After half an inch into the smoke, the spicy flavor disappeared and it turned into a smooth flavor bomb! As mentioned on other reviews on this cigar, it had good woodsy, leathery, and earthy flavor. I thought I smelled some floral notes but I'm not too sure about this.. The smoothness continued on with complex flavors till the last inch, where the spiciness kicked in again. It wasn't as spicy as before but it was good to the nub.
Over all this cigar is one of the best cigars I've tried so far. It was an overkill for a newb like me. I definitely recommend it if you haven't try one. You won't be disappointed!
