This is the smoke that started the wrapper search in this thread[topic="36626"]The Great Wrapper Chase[/topic]
Padilla Corojo Edicion Especial 2006
Achilles - 6 x 50
The review will be short. I smoked it about 3 days ago with the intentions of writing up my review after, but then life got in the way. The Padilla as you can see in the pic was in some sad shape. It was damaged during shipping. I held on to it for about 3 weeks and decided that it was time to give it a go. I clipped it and after some wrapper work, fired it up. Blasted with thick white smoke and a very Pepin-ish blast of spice. The flavor reminded me of "toasting" something and was very full and creamy. I am so glad that I smoked this right after lunch, as it was a powerhouse, or it was for me. In the middle of the cigar, the spice faded, and just got loads of toasty creamy smoke. I was really surprised at how well this was going considering all the work I had to do to keep the wrapper on. In the finish, the spice came back, and she was working into a super conclusion, when all the wrapper trouble caught up with me. She died just into the last 3rd. Not wanting to ruin the already great experience, I just set her down, and....well right after that things here on my side of the world got ugly.......
Over all, a super smoke, and I will now start the search for more.
