Last night the Generals retired Orr's number whom he played for from 1962 to 1966. You might say, "It's about time". But it wasn't the Generals fault. Orr didn't want a fuss, being the humble man that he is. He finally relented this year. The Hab's great, Serge Savard once said of Orr, "In the NHL there are players, stars, superstars and then there's Bobby Orr. He was the real greatest and we'll never see his like again. He changed the game with his million dollar legs and fifty cent knees. If your a hockey fan and never saw Orr play, you've never seen the game played like it was meant to be.

hmm... I should've been paying better attention, I guess... Orr was my favorite player when I was a young'un, and I live in Oshawa... :(

I understand that Don Cherry made a surprise guest appearance

In the dictionary, under the term "real man" it says, "Hockey players before helmets, especially goalies."

I wasn't lucky enough to see him play, but I have seen footage of him and he really is a great asset to his sport.
