Sounds great Mike, keep us updated as it gets a little closer. You know I'm always up for a herf...... :D  :p

Hey Mike, have you got an idea when you guys will want to get together so we can start to get this going. There are a few other boards that I visit and a bunch of us just need a reason to get together. :D When are you guys leaving on Saturday the 5th? It looks like Friday the 4th will be the best day for me if your leaving during the day time. I checked out the website of the place you guys are staying at and it's right down the road from the Corona Cigar Company. Great place for a herf and a must stop for anyone the is into ceegars...... :D  :p

Sounds like a good reason to go cigar shopping at Corona's. I have only cruised through the place on a very limited budget time-wise. It looks like a place where a BOTL could spend some time.

Holler, when ya get the details figured out.

Joe

Hello hello hello, is this microphone on? Mike give up a heads up bro as some of us need a little heads up and we want to get the word out to others on a few of the other cigar boards we frequent...... :D  :p  :whistling:

Hey guys
My wife and I will be in the Orlando area for the weekend of Jan 28th through the 30th. Driving up Friday and returning Sunday. We have daytime activities planned but will be up for a herf Friday or Saturday night. Driving back Sunday.

Am thinking fri. the 4th would be the best bet to get togeather.

not sure if I'm arriving on the 29th or the 30th, but would be up for a cigar or two on the 30th too

Alright all, I have been talking with Sir Smokes and the best bet is Feb 4th at around 7 to 7:30 pm at the Corona Cigar Company on Sand Lake Rd in Orlando. Post here and / or PM me if your interested so I can let the Cigar Co. know roughly how many guys will show. I'm going to post ths on a few other sites (Cigar Chat, Red Neck Bastids, MDCigar, Cigar Divan, Cigar Snobs, ect) I'm not a member of CW, so if one of you are and would like to post this there, that would be cool..... :D  :p

Things are looking good participant wise. I got a call from a member of cigar weekly that lives in Orlando that asked that if it's okay if he brings a few of his cigar buddies, I said the more the merrier. We got responses from cigar chat, Perdomo (cigar board), cigar weekly and of course here at CP. Right now, I'm looking up pricing for Frank (Big100HD) for a flight down here from Dulles to Orlando on the 4th. I know it's gonna be a great time simply from the early responses and all. I'm gonna talk with the guys at Corona Cigar and see what they can do for us. I'll keep you all updated as things move along and don't forget, this is the best time of the year for a vacation from the cold..... :D  :p

Well, the Herf has another reason now, a pre-Superbowl party..... :D  :p

Woooooo Hooooooo, Herfin' Tonight...... :D  :p

Well, I talked with Mike (Sir Smoke) and things are all lined up. Also left a message with Joe (jgohlke) and we should be arriving around 6:30 with cigars in hand. We have a great showing of BOTL from a variety of cigar boards which should be cool. You won't be able to miss me as I'll be the one with a cigar polo shirt smokin' a ceegar...... :D :sign:  :whistling:

Well, all I can say is incredable. We had a super time and It was great meetin' Mike (Sir Smokes-A-Lot) and seeing Joe (jgohlke) again. We had a great showing of botl from a variety of cigar boards and the place was packed. Just to list a few special guests that showed up were Avo Uvezian of AVO Cigars, Jonathan Drew from Drew Estates and a couple of repersentatives of Rocky Patel Cigars. Avo was sittin' next to me enjoying a few of his his special ceegars and Jonathan was handing out two of his new unreleased cigars, 1) Java 2) Mocha Java. The place also had its share of Eagles & Patriots fans as well. Sir Smokes had Avo and Jonathan sign cigar boxes for him respectively. At the end of the evening, we (Joe and myself) dropped off Sir Smokes at Disney's Pleasure Island to meet up with a few of his friends. Just as a note, don't turn up the heat in your vehicle if you ever get the chance to give him a ride somewhere. It must be a Minnesota thing or somethin'. LOL. I know that I'll be postin' my pictures on this thread when I get mine developed and Sir Smokes took a bunch as well. It was definitely a night to remember for a while...... :D  :p

Big fun is what we had for sure! I got a handshake from Avo and a cigar and handshake from Jonathan Drew. We met most of the Corona Cigar guys too, including the owner. Charlie (Stogieman) invited folks from a few other cigar boards and I got to met them as well. A great bunch of guys and a few real characters!

At the end of the night Jonathan Drew was handing out two of his new cigars for folks to try. Of course, he clips it, lights it and gives it to you. For a couple of people, this meant they had two cigars going at the same time. It's funny watching somebody trying to smoke two cigars at once. Mike (Sir Smokes-A-Lot) actually had 3 cigars going at the same time, an Opus X and two of the new cigars he got from Jonathan Drew. He finally clipped the Opus, saving it for later. This still left him smoking two cigars at once, with Jonathan asking him, what do you think of that one? How about this one? Sir-Smokes was doing his best to puff away, contemplate the complexity of each cigar and give a serious and thoughtful assessment. Smoking two cigars at once would just about kill me...it turns out, it didn't do Mike anygood either!

I only smoked two during the evening, but everybody else had at least four, I think Charlie and Mike both had 5 or 6. I was hoarse the next day just from the two I smoked and all the second hand smoke. Who would have thought a cigar store would be such a happening place? For the record, I smoked a nice Rocky Patel, Vintage 1990 that I bought there and a Bolivar gifted to me by Charlie's friend Oscar. Both were very nice.

I did some shopping, bought a few cigars and drooled over a few. They have quite a collection, including a standup glass humidor full of pre-embargo Cubans. One of the store guys told us they bought them from the estate of Ernie Kovaks after he passed away. No prices and I didn't ask....

Looking forward to the pictures!

Joe

Here is Sir Smokes enjoying a couple of Drew Estates unreleased ceegars soon to come out. One was the Java and the other was the Mocha Java. Mike was wearin' his newly signed hat by Michael Eisner (CEO of Disney) and if you look hard enough, that's Jonathan Drew in the back right corner. This was taken by Joe on his cell camera phone and you can just get a glimce of him to Mike's left. After this, there was nuttin' but the cryin'...... :D  :p  :whistling:

Here's a few more pics (As Thumb Nails / Just click to enlarge) that I got back on a roll of film. Thought you all would like to see them. I'm not sure why they cam out so big / large, I have not done anything new:

1) This is Avo trying to stay warm since the temp was below 60 degrees and all..... :D

2) This is own Joe (jgohkle), General Gill Greb (Retired US Army) from Cigar Weekly), and Mike (Sir-Smokes-A-Lot)

3) Some of the guys that work for Rocky Patel and others sinply socializing.

4) Lastly, this is Jonathan Drew of Drew Estates signing a box for Sir Smokes.

Hopefully, I get some others sent to me and I'll continue to post em' to this link...... :D  :p  :whistling:
