Moki was kind enough to send me a Opus X xXx "Power Ranger" knowing full well it would hurt me.
After a few months of it sitting in my humidor I finally decided to take it head on. My last experience with an Opus X was with Andrew at his club early this year, and as he could confirm - it knocked me down.
But I'm a fan of self induced masochist pleasure...so I took the plunge again.
This Opus X XXX (4 5/8 x 49) is built like tank, solid, tight with that confidence inducing feel when you have it sit between your fingers. You're not driving, it drives you.
I have to say that I'm a self-confessed light weight when it comes to strong cigars, it goes right to my head in no time. This cigar has the fastest puff to head absorbtion ratio of any cigar I've smoked. Literally, after 2 draws, I was feeling straight up top. The smoke was nice and white, medium thickness, and ultra-spicey with hints of cinnamon and cedar. The fragrance was very nice as well. Unlike other cigars, after a strong draw, letting the smoke sit in my mouth for a while, it latches on to my tongue and doesn't let go.
As the smoke drew near the wrapper, it was almost too strong for me. Intoxicating is probably the right word.
It definitely is a cigar that lives up to its nick name of Power Ranger.
Intense and bold.
I'll probably have to hurt myself again in a few months. It was a fun love affair.
