Opus X Shark on Cigarauctioneer

A highly over-rated and over-priced cigar. I know someone who paid $45 for a Chili Pepper at the same site last night. He was embarrassed but I guess compelled. Two of those will buy a box of damn fine cigars - probably better even! :D

One reason to give the cigars in the CF22 box a bit of leeway is that a % of the profit made on sale of these cigars goes to the CigarFamily Charitable Foundation. Granted, after-market markups don't add to the donations, but it does explain the initial high price.

I don't have any issue with the MSRP, or even paying slightly more than MSRP for something hard to find, but to pay 50% over MSRP is crazy.

How much is an Opus X shark from the 2002 Prometheus humidor worth?

I routinely pay 40% over MSRP for Opus, but that is Colorado Taxes.

Bid to win is now over $50, and there is still over 9 hours left...

That cigar would probably "retail" for about $48-$50 here in Minnesotax, that is if you could find it. In some states with higher taxes, $50 could be quite the bargain.

I don't know. It's well above what I would pay for one, but it doesn't seem nearly as crazy as some of the stuff I've seen there and on CBid.

I just gifted my last one away to a member of CF who las looking for some. He'd sent me some pretty amazing stuff a year or so back, so I finally found the start of a payback for him.
