Quite a while ago I was gifted this stick by Bill and I decided to fire it up this weekend.

The largest Opus I've smoked up to this point I decided to take it with me to my local watering hole aka "Classic Rock Cafe" to enjoy while shooting some 8-Ball.

I'm also guessing that this cigar was also the most aged Opus X I've had the pleasure of smoking since it was smooth as a shot of cold Irish Cream.

Pre-light; Perfect draw and the taste of spice that makes the Opus line one of my favorites, give me an Opus over an Anjeo any day of the week.

Now the burn wasn't perfect and I had to touch it up a few times but I'm putting that down to me sitting near an open window and playing pool while smoking it, nothing like not paying 100% attention to a cigar to make it burn a bit funny.

Flavor; from beginning to end absolutely mouth-watering. Spicy Leather and Pepper.

Time to Nub; now this was the best thing, I arrived at the bar around 10:40 and had the cigar lit about 5 mins later. And it was almost 1am when I finally put it to rest. Well over 2 hours of pleasure. And the best thing was I was so buzzed off the smoke I didn't drink close to half as much beer as normal, so I ended up going home with a full wallet as well.

Bill, thanks again for the cigar, I enjoyed the hell out of it!

Very Nice review Shawn!

lol no bro I forgot to take my camera to the bar, and its better that way... I tend to lose shit when drinking

I would feel self conscious taking pictures of a cigar while playing pool in a bar. As Shawn said, I'd loose my camera by the time I hung up my hang up's. Thanks for the great review

Thanks for the review!!!

RdC is a great cigar...perhaps slightly overlooked. Seems harder to find than other sizes.

And where the hell do you live that you can still smoke in a bar?!?! I just moved from one state to another and both have banned smoking !

EDIT: Oh Germany...glad they have to right there!

Glad you liked it Shawn!

I'm pretty sure I bought the box that cigar came in sometime around Christmas of 2005 so it has to be at least a year and a half old. I too have noticed that Opus X mellow out as they age.

I made the mistake of smoking an Opus X on an empty stomach and WOW, when I do that, they hit me pretty hard. :0
