This thread was going to be called "First negative Opus experience." But the Fuentes came through again.
See at first the cigar wasn't that great. Didn't want to stay lit had a slightly harsh and acrid taste. I actually tasted tar/asphalt in the first 1/4." Burn wasn't great in the beginning either. Kind of uneven at times. I mean never terrible, but just not Opus-like.
The first half wasn't BAD per se, just not $8 good.
I just kept smoking it and smoking it and started to get down near the band. Slid the band back and I was finally rewarded with the well-known sweetish Opus taste that aficionados know and love.
Nubbed it and now I'm happy!
Maybe it's harder to make such a small cigar be a terrific cigar. Would like to hear the experiences of others with this small parejo.
I would say this cigar was BARELY worth it since I paid MSRP. If I had really killed myself or paid way above MSRP I would be pissed.
