The BBMF was not a good cigar. The beauty factor was high, but the smoking experience was poor at best.

-Beautiful wrapper
-Nice clip
-Plugged. Clipped higher. Still plugged. Clipped just above base of label. Still plugged.
-Huge tunneling issues and just couldn't keep it lit. Couldn't get any smoke.
-No taste other than smoke. Likely due to the draw.

I even tried sliding my cutter as high up as possible (about half stick) and clipping there & starting over. Still no luck. Plugged.

I wanted this to be a great smoking experience. I wanted to say, wow, I've found one more domestic to keep the co. of the PAM and the De Silvio. No such luck.

I'd like to find a "good" one to smoke...but these things are expensive and hard to find. $100+ should be downright phenomenal in my book. Sadly, the BBMF was downright bad :(

Not even going to throw a number out there.

WOW! Sorry for the poor expieriance. I'd get one of those plug tools before I'd toss a $100 cigar (like I'd ever have a $100 cigar) Hopefully you didn't pay near the full load on it.

That blows. The only one of these that I've had, I smoked down in Dominica while sitting on an ocean-side porch. It was absolutely wonderful, no burn or plug issues at all. Very, very nice tasting, especially as it got down to the thinner parts of the cigar and picked up some nice spice.

Sucks that it was plugged, but hell, it happens. AVB is right, should have poked it through with a toothpick or something rather than let it go to waste. Ah well. :)

Well, any kind of plugged cigar is going to suck. Just because something is rare doesn't mean it is going to be any good (but thankfully in the case of the BBMF, they taste awesome).

I'd put the VSG ERs, Opus X Maduros, regular Opus X's (especially ones with a few years on 'em) right up there with the PAM (I assume you mean 1926?) and de Silvio's too, but that's me. :)

The only real reason the BBMFs "cost" so much is that they are rare; they aren't a regular production cigar at all.

Don't worry, he didn't pay nearly that much for it. ;)

BTW, the "group buy" cost of the BBMF was $56... for what it's worth. They are rare enough that they go for all sorts of prices, though.

I'd still invest in a cigar poker to save a $56 cigar. Of course, I'm a cheap SOB anyway. :0

I'd have turned the leftovers of the cigar into a tobaccoccino :)
