Opus X "A"

I was told that all of the Opus X "A"'s were all rolled at the same time and that they are only being released slowly...I remember being told that they were all rolled in 1992. Please clear this up...Moki!?

I think '97 was the first year for them and they aren't stockpiled.

They are the most limited due the the fact that quality wrapper that large is in short supply.

Not true. I've seen them being rolled... and in 1992, there wasn't even any Opus X tobacco yet, that's the year they first planted 'em.

Moki speaks the truth. They started being released sometime in 1999. They are rolled every year along with all the other regular production Opus X.

Never had the opportunity to try an "A" but from what I understand they are very ass kicking in several ways. They are excellent Opus tobacco but are also very rich and full-bodied. The size makes them a hell of a cigar to handle. I have only seen one or two of these and at $25-30 a pop I think that I may have to wait for killer gift or a better job until I can light one of these up.

I have a couple of these. My 14 yr old daughter says that she wants to go to the Air Force Academy :thumbs: . I told her that I am saving them for the day that she graduates. They will, no doubt, be a sweet cigar by then!

It's my understanding that this vitola was indeed first rolled circa 1997... but I'm not sure when they were actually released to the public.
