Hey all...
I am having a brain-spasm, and can't remember the name of the type of tobacco in Opus that makes it have such a kick...I just spaced in the middle of a convo that will be continuing in 5 minutes...a little help, please?

i belive it is Rosado

Thanks. Funny, I had the name (I thought) on the tip of my tongue, and that wasn't it...weird...thought it was something with an L, ligero? Ligretto? Ahhh, whatever, for the purposes of my conversation, Rosado it is.

The wrapper is Rosado, and is specially grown on the Fuente farms so that each Opus has a distinct appearance and flavor (it is said the wrapper adds 30-60% of the cigars flavor). Those leaves must be absolutely perfect.

Ligero is in the filler. The cigar blender decides the proportion of Ligero (from the top of the plant), Seco (from the center of the plant) and Volado from the bottom of the plant. Ligero adds strength and flavor to the cigar, and are the slowest burning of the leaves. Seco adds some flavor and are lighter in color and flavor. Volado adds very little flavor, but help the cigar to burn evenly. It is the blend of these leaves that creates the overall flavor and "burnability" of the cigar, and why a cigar blender is so important in the overall creation of the cigar. Get it wrong - the cigar sucks - get it right - the cigar is a dream...

The First priming aka can also be called Viso which is the bottom of the plant.

This board is driving me crazy!!! I've been trying to post this reponse and it keeps timing out - but I guess it's posting it despite it telling me it's timing out...

ROD!!!! WTF!!!!

Thanks everybody. IT was the Ligero that I was trying to think of, and apparetnly remmebered while I eas typing my first reposnse. Never knew it was just aprt of the plant, not a "type" of tobacco. It is the precelance of a high grade ligero that gives opus its strength? I enjoy these things called cigars, but my technical knowledge is really lacking.

"Rosado" is spanish for Pink!...
Thought I'd add that piece of usless information.. Have you seen My Book?
