I'm at work smoking cao criollo and must say it's a fine smoke. what's your opinion if you smoked one. good, bad or so so.

As much as I wanted to like it (probably because I liked the looks of the stick), I just didn't care for it. It actually left me bored half way into smoking it. It didn't have the flavor and umph that I like from a cigar. Keep in mind though, this is coming from someone who isn't very impressed with CAO as a whole (with the exception of the Brazilia).

Well since Orangeman commented from the perspective of someone who isn't too impressed with CAOs then I will comment as someone who is usually very impressed with them.

I enjoy most of the lines that CAO offers but I didn't care for the criollo, I too got kinda bored about half way through it, just seemed like there wasn't much going on with it.

If you enjoy it though don't let us tell you its crap, if you like it keep on smoking it, thats why there are sooo many types of cigars available, we all have different tastes. my $.02

Well i finiished it and like you said the first part was good then it was so so i would give it a 2.5 on scale from 1 to 5. don't think i'll buy them again

I have to agree: I had high hopes for this cigar, but some of the other guys described it perfectly...I got bored with it. Not a bad smoke, just not what I am normally looking for in a cigar of that price. Will probably smoke another one again just to make sure it wasn't a fluke.

Hey bchem - if you want to smoke another one, lets do a trade 'cause I've got one left in my humi that's just waiting to be smoked. ;) In fact, I've got 4 or 5 other CAO's that came in a sampler that I didn't care for that are keeping the criollo company. The only one that I want to keep is the Brazillia. I bought two samplers with the expectation that I would really like the CAO brand. However, that just wasn't the case.

I am a CAO fan but criollo's are not my fav. I do smoke them but only after a had a few drinks and my tastes are not up to par. I do like the box they come in.

I've had ones that make me say MORE, and some that just sucked. inconsistent. if you are gunna smoke CAO, some blacks people. they are the only way to go.

I've been smoking mostly Habanos for the last two years and the CAO Criollo is probably one of maybe two or three non-Cubans I have really enjoyed in that time.

Criollo's are a nice cigar with some age on them.
Got 5 last year and tried one after I got them and was not too impressed.
After sitting in my humi for almost a year they came around quite nicely.
A good medium to full bodied cigar with decent flavor.

So what I'm gathering here is to age your smokes a while in the humi. then give it a second chance. I'm new to having a humi but almost have it filled up. another ten more and i'll have a 100. dang c-bid is addictive as are the good stogies lol

Aging is definitely the key for many smokes, although it's awfully hard to do some times. I've got a few that I keep eyeing, but resist 'cause I want more age on them.

I would have to agree with aging them prior to smoking. I tried one right out of the box, and did not care for it very much at all. I let them age 6 to 8 months and they were better IMO. I smoke them fairly regularly now, along with the Brazilia's.

Excellent stick for guests.

Thats what I did w/ the last 3 of my 5-pack. They enjoyed them, although, I think I could have given them some swishers, and they would have enjoyed them just as much. Anyway, I really like the Blacks, and the maduros by cao, but they cost too much...better smokes for the money...Italia is about my fav cao smoke..right after the blacks, then the brazillias

I have an Italia waiting in the Humi calling my name! It will be the first Italia that I have tried. Its been sitting maybe 2 months, I suppose I should put it out of its misery one of these days.

I freakin' love the Criollos. My boss at the Tinder Box doesn't order them much anymore, but our CAO rep Jeff knows I really like them, so he brings me a few every time he comes by.
