My glass top humi immediately drops to 60% RH, like clockwork. All summer long, it holds steady at 65%. As soon as the temp outside gets below 32, bam, 5% decrease. Good thing i only use it for my overflow. I just think it's sort of amuzing, obviously the Humi has a faulty seal. I gave up and trying to solve it, after I got a $20 humi from Swifty (same stick count). Humi cost's a fraction of the price, but holds a constant RH!

If only I could get myself to pull the trigger on the Versaille.

And since I don't want this post in the Humidor section, for no apparent reason... I have found that my tastes for cigars has dramatically changed from nice and mild to uber flavor.

Same thing here. I have a pretty nice glass top 125+ from Orleans Group (venetian) and the RH drops like clockwork. This week has been 100% humidity outside and an unseasonable mid 60's. RH at 65/66% all week.

Wake up today, 40 degrees out, heats kicked on in the house and RH is at 60/61. I dont even bother micromanageing it anymore.

I wonder if it's not a faulty seal and it's actually the cold glass having an affect. Have you done the 'woosh' test on it..

or the credit card test... or the flashlight test.. or the piece of paper test.. ?

Oh yeah, swoosh and dollar bill test. I too quick micromanaging it. I even took pieces of a cedar wrap, and glued them inside to tighten the seal. As long as it doesn't fall to far below I'm fine. This will be the second winter it goes through so Im not the most worried.

I've often wondered myself about the temp of the glass top. But I think once the heat kicks on in the house, the RH of the house drops immensely. I would think a faulty seal would be the reason teh RH inside the humi drops as well.

Oh well, I don't plan on keeping it to much longer. Trying to talk the wife into a new one for xmas.
