I have always been a huge fan of Oliva cigars and the original O was what first sold me on the line. The "reintroduction" of the O Classic was something that caught my attention very quickly and had me hoping for the best; namely, that it would be the exact same cigar. It wasn't. But that might be the only bad news.
After having a couple, I can say that these cigars definitely live up to the reputation that Oliva has established in my mind. Great construction, dependable, good smokes.
The O Classic toro that I most recently had was well constructed, great prelight aroma, with a smooth, beautiful wrapper. The cigar burned as I have come to expect from most, but not all, Oliva cigars; perfectly with no need for touch-ups. The taste was medium bodied with a nice sweetness and almost a "classic" cigar taste. Very much what I've come to expect from a good Nicaraguan. I may be overselling them a bit much as I'm a certifiable Oliva ho and I've been mentally drooling for these O's since I heard they had "returned." Still, I wish they had been the exact same blend as the cloth-banded O's that disappeared after the Bolds came out but oh well... can't have it all.
