I just got into pipes a few months ago, and I bought a couple of basket pipes along with some blends from Holt's to get my feet wet. I also have been lurking on this board and as a result bought several of Boswell's blends. I find pipe smoking to be relaxing, especially after a long day of class and work. Last week I bought the lone freehand by Nording in the store for $85, and I feel like I've died and gone to heaven..some of my friend laugh at me for being 25 and into a hobby stereotypically reserved for "Grandpa", but I don't care. I prefer a sweet smoke over a cigarette anytime. Any tips or insight, feel free to reply. Thanks!

edited to add-I also bought some Guilty Pleasure and Sherlock Holmes from Ashton/Peterson..both are phenomenal, I must say that the quality of the pipe does bring out the flavors in the tobacco.

Even though this should be in the Introduce Yourself area....

Welcome to CP from Chicago. I know there are a bunch of BOTL's here that enjoy the pipe, and give you some great insight. Stick around, read, read, read, and enjoy your time here!

I would pop into the Introduce yourself section, and well, introduce yourself there!

I find your thread title interesting...

My mom has always told me that since the minute I was born she had the feeling I was an "old soul". I'm 28 and there is this strange allure to the pipe that I feel is some weird tie to a time past. I think many of the people who are pipe smokers feel this same way...strange.

Enjoy the pipe! I love that Nording...I've been meaning to get one!

Glad you dropped by. I've smoked a pipe on and off since I was in my early 20s, only recently have I found out what real pipe smoking entails. So I guess you could call me an "old soul" as well. Welcome to CP and be sure to do a proper introduction and tell us more about yourself.
