Wow, good thing bmi is accurate.
Take JJ Watt....
At 6 feet, 5 inches, his extremely muscular frame weighs 289 pounds. That means Watt's BMI is 34.3 – a number considered on the very high end of the first level of obesity.

The US Air Force used to use BMI as one of their main factors in "fitness". They lost a lot of good Airmen over the years because of this.

We need to get rid of all the actuaries. I lifted weights a lot of years. I weigh a lot more than I look, and I'm not a tall person. Screw that BMI crap.

I've always been plagued by the BMI number. At 6'5" it just doesn't work out. I think I'm supposed to weigh 210 (currently 250). The only way I could get down to 210 would be to lop off a limb.

I'm just going to walk out the door on this one... :p

Seriously, though, I was in the same boat before I chopped off a limb. I was into bodybuilding and then powerlifting. I was up to about 245 lbs with a 33" waist around 2005/2006. I could run for days, but I'd routinely fail the BMI and bike test. Neck measurement is the only thing that used to save me. Very glad they got rid of that "testing" method.

I had to ask what smoking had to do with this and a nursing friend said the following.

"It effects your recovery and healing. Not to mention the ease that they can get you off the vent. And, there's the crankiness because you can't smoke in the hospital."

Just FYI if others were thinking the same.
