NEW YORK (AP) -- The makers of Coors and Miller plan to combine their U.S. brewing operations in an effort to compete better against industry-leader Anheuser-Busch.

The joint venture announced Tuesday will be known as MillerCoors and will have responsibility for selling brands like Miller Lite and Coors Light in the U.S. Under the terms of the agreement, the companies said they will conduct all of their U.S. business exclusively through the venture.

The companies project MillerCoors will have combined annual beer sales of 69 million U.S. barrels with revenue of about $6.6 billion.

Blehhh.

I gotta be honest, if I wanna drink a cheap, weekend at the lakes type beer, I drink High Life. Sounds crazy but it is far better then any of those big name alternatives.

Isn't that MILLER High Life ???

Nah, I'll grab a Shiner.

If I've got to make a call about cheap beer I prefer PBR over all others.
Of course, I very rarely drink cheap beer =)

I only like Bud one way... in a can out of the cooler on a hot summer day.

Same for Miller High Life or Genuine Draft.

Coors? Blech.

When one is stuck with cheap beer it's Grain Belt all the way!

But in all honesty I'd usually rather drink nothing, or water, or pop, or whatever, than cheap beer.

I'm with you on this one bro!
PBR FTW... If I'm going cheap, or a hot day!!!

I drink lagers only as an absolute last resort. I'd piss in a cup and drink that warm before I drink a light beer.

I doubt that the merger would jeopardize either brand.

high life or MGD for me.

This is interesting news, I am curious to see what it does to the job market here in Denver. I'm sure there will be some caualities of the merger.
