Besides smoking cigars over a friends house for poker I have never been to a party where folks meet up to smoke and trade cigars.

I am not sure if there is a cigar bar in this part of the state but if so I am sure we could make plans to have one there.

I know over at CF they have had some Nor Cal herfs and I will ask around to see what kind of response I get.

Is this something Nor Cal members would be interested in participating in?
Just trying to get a feel for the idea before I start to make plans.

If you have an idea or can help with some input please post it here.

Contact ParaGod (Mike) who is a member here at CPass and at CW.

He is having his annual summer herf in just a few weeks in Windsor, California, ( between Santa Rosa and Healdsburg about 60 miles North of the SF. )

Mike is the bar-b-que king and a fine herfing host! :thumbs:
 
I'm up for a Nor Cal HERF. I was just in Santa Rosa a couple of weeks ago and will be there again on Tuesday :D .

Hey Rich, I was just in Concord on Wednesday night, I took my daughter to a concert at the pavilion.

Talked to a bunch of guys over at CF and there is a weekly herf somewhere nearby and a monthly gig at La Sallee's cigars in Oakland on the first Sunday of the month.

It sounds like a pretty cool place, maybe we can start a thread for Norcal members at La Salle's.

I think we have 5 or 6 members of CP from the San Jose area, so Oakland sounds a little more centrally located.

Any ideas?

Lets put our heads together and get something planned.

They meet weekly, maybe Thursdays, at a place in Mt. View if I remember correctly.

A monthly meeting sounds good, but Oakland??? :D

I was told there are only a couple cigar bars within 45 miles and one is in SF the other is OAK, Can't remember where the last one is.

Ever been to La Salle's?

It looks like there are a few of us from San Jose. Has anyone ever considered having a herf at Willow Glen Cigars?
 
I drove by WG Cigars a couple of weeks ago and it looked like they have closed their doors.

We could always get together when the "All-Star Pass" makes its way to Nor Cal so all you newbies can see how a pass is done the right way ;)

That is bad news! I always thought that they didn't have the best location but I hoped they could survive since they were a specialty store.

I usually frequent Campbell Cigars and Mission Pipe. Do you have any recommendations for local stores?

Someone needs to open a good cigar store in N California. One of The better ones is Mission Pipe but their prices are enough to make you walk out and not buy anything.

There is one in Morgan Hill where you can smoke and shoot some pool but I can't remember the name. i'll have to ask Howard (wicked stick). He goes there a bit and there is a shop in Saratoga next to the AMC Saratoga too. I have seen a few but I CAN'T REMEMBER!!!!! It stinks gettting old :D
 
Hey I am down to smoke with you guys... willow glen has moved to a new location were? I really do not know. But there is a rally nice on in morgan hill. Huge bar and pool tables to boot let me know Would love to try a herf. :D
 
....if this is timed right, I'll do my best to try to figure some good reason I have to hop the shuttle and do something work related in the Bay Area about the time you guys get ready to herf. Sure would be cool to hook up and put some faces with the names.... :cool:

Willow Glen Cigars is now Cigars of Willow Glen and they have moved to 1650 Almaden Road. Here is a link to their website: Cigars of Willow Glen

They are in a commerical area with a lot of auto repair places but at least they have a smoking lounge again.

The Morgan Hill Tobacco Company is also a great place. They have a great selection and the staff is very friendly and helpful. They are located in downtown Morgan Hill at 17430 Monterey St. This would be a great place for a herf.
 
And Morgan Hill is waiting for all of the taste of Morgan Hill and Gilroy festivities to end before doing their toast across america.....
 
How does Sunday, October 23rd work for everyone? If it looks like enough of us can make it I will coordinate it with the shop in Morgan Hill.
 
FYI ... The group of folks from CF meet every Thursday at the British Bankers Club in Menlo Park (1090 El Camino Real, just N of Sand Hill Rd).

Morgan Hill Tobacco is a great place. Decent supply of cigars, and a nice bar / lounge area in the back.

One last local shop I know of is Smoker's Paradise (Union Ave + Camden). Unfortunately they don't have any kind of lounge ... but they are great folks with a wide selection for cigar and pipe smokers.
