I managed to squeeze in a little project yesterday/last night. I took the shelves out of a cabinet I bought to keep my pipes in and made a custom interior rack to replace them. It isn't showpiece quality, but it works well and looks pretty darn good with the doors closed. Here it is...
It will hold 26 pipes. The only thing I would change is to decrease the spacing between the rests for the bit and the rests for the bowls. It's a little too much of a gap for my shortest (and one of my favorite) pipes. If I ever make another I"ll just make two of the rows for the shorter pipes and one of them for the longer pipes. I'll probably refinish it one of these days when I have more time. The stain is a little blotchy and the filler didn't take the stain very well at all. Not bad for a day's work if I say so myself.
I drew up some scale drawings I can scan in if anyone else wants to attempt this. (Yeah, I'm a little strange. )
