Due to requests and the poll I have decided to break up each smoke in it's own individual review. And what better way to start than to review a gifted Opus X Fuente Fuente.
Pre Light:
Having my last and only other one of these some 3 years ago this cigar and brand has a lot of memories associated with it. So tonight was the night to light it up. The shape, smell was perfect. Nice brown, fairly smooth, very few and not very noticable veins. The band with some very careful tearing was salvageable for the album. The plug cut the cigar just right without splitting or tearing and the intial light was fast and strong.
The Smoke and taste:
The first hit... wow it was strong, nearly kicking me back but I righted myself and puffed along. Shortly the cigar became smoother, a little more milder so that by half way through it was at it's mildest point, and then it started to kick back up in a hurry!
Now as usually disclaimed I am very new to all of this and sometimes struggle to find the words for the tastes I am having. The start of the cigar was straight up potent moist flavorful wood that like I mentioned nearly dropped me - mind you this cigar was had way before dinner time...
Past the first few puffs though and throughout the rest of the cigar the primary taste was nuts. At first litghtly minted nuts, then toasted nuts, and in the end peppered nuts.
With my new scoring system, this cigar rated:
a 92.
Well folks see you at the end of the weekend and everyone enjoy one this weekend!
