Well, I did it. I couldn't wait another minute.

I posted a message about cigars to try when I joined CP, and it seemed an overwhelming number of replies came back in favor of the Padron Anniversary 1964. So, as it was listed on my wish list entry, lo and behold one appeared in a bomb I was blown up with (actually got 3!)

So tonight, my neighbor, and cigar smoking buddy, came over, and after I wowed him with my new coolidor, we proceeded to my back deck and I whipped out the PAM. And since I am not a 'professional reviewer', please understand if this review is lacking in terminology.

My thoughts?

WOW! AWESOME! HOLY CRAP! MAMA! MEDIC!
I smoked that sucker down until I smelled something strange- I singed my mustache smoking that thing down to less than a nub! even Porter, my pup, was drooling (no kidding... he normally is pretty neutral when it comes to cigars)- he had a line of drool 3 inches long and was watching me like a hawk- i had to shoo him away a few times as he got awful close. This is one cigar I *WILL* be getting a box of... many boxes of to be exact, given the finances and the wifes ok (if she even knows... :whistling: ).

Thanks to all that suggested it, and to those that sent me one (you -and I- know who you are...) That was the smoothest, tastiest, easiest smoking cigar I can ever remember having- the burn, the ash, the taste were all like they should be- in a word, perfect. I truly think it will be hard to top that (not that I'm not going to try mind you)

Nice review. These are some of the finest cigars on the face of the planet, bar none.

Great review Swissy. The PAM '64s are currently at the top of my list - absolutely fantastic smokes that are always consistent and will never let you down when you need a go-to smoke. If I am ever unsure what to smoke, I grab a PAM every time...

Nice review Swissy! These are wonderful smokes. You should give the 1926 a try. Just as good if not better (IMHO) but different tastes/flavors!

Looking forward to more reviews.....

hehe. yep!
they're darn-good smokes, alright.
which size was the one you smoked, by the way? and what about the other two you've got on deck?

yeah, after a few experiences with the 1964's, give a Serie 1926 a whirl...I'd recommend a No. 9 Maduro, but any of them will be heavenly.

you gonna share with your dog next time? poor little guy. ;)

Last nights was an Monarcha, I believe. I still have a 1926 #6 on deck (thanks bfreebern!) and another '64 - a maduro Principe. And damn the torpedos- full speed ahead. I bought 2 5-packs on cigarbid already - a 5pack of maduro Torpedos and the 1926 sampler! Figured if I didn't like them, they'd be good trades/pass material!

As far as Porter getting a cigar goes, well he's not of the age yet. He still gets the bubblegum cigars.

haha!
porter's gonna just have to continue to drool-on in the sidelines, huh?

ah! yeah, leave it to brandon to have that (1926) base covered for you.

good going on the c-bid scores! I highly doubt you'll not like them enough to get rid of them, but they do make for good trades/puts.

Strange thing about Porter (and Amber, and the GSMD breed) is they DON'T DROOL! One of 2 giant breed of dogs with a dry mouth, which makes me think the PAM was even more special, if it could get him to do so. Coincidence? I think NOT!

And Brandon... well, lets just say he got his. My second round bomb was much better... I learned my lesson quickly. :whistling:

MY dogs seems to love the smell of Maduros...she will not leave me alone when I smoke one..especially Cao Maduros...crazy dog

Great review Swissy...as you already know, this is my favorite all time smoke...buuuuuut, there are some monte #2's waiting in the humi right now in their attempt to dethrone the PAM as my favorite stick! You should also try the 26 series..another great smoke...not as strong as the PAM, but a bit more complex in my humble oppinion... :D

Oh yeah- this one's going down next! I'd take it the fire station with me, but my luck is I'd get a call the second I lit up. Just ask tuxindy- I can't take a crap without the tones going off for us! (my record- 3 tries in a shift, each with a call interrupting it! Nothing so unsatisfying as having to.. well, you get the idea  )

PS... by the way, here's a little more of a write up on a blog some family and friends wanted mt to do... Jim's Dumb Blog
