Newbie question...boxes???

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get empty cigar boxes? I like to collect them (call me weird)... but apparently someone started a fad of making them into womens purses so, everywhere I go to find some I've already been beaten to the "punch" (lame pun, sorry) by some up-and-coming martha stewart...

So anyways, I'd appreciate any info that anyone has to share, or if you have empty boxes or know of any that are just being tossed out, please let me know.

I hope I haven't posted this in the wrong place, if so please forgive me, oh yeah... one more question: what exactly is a "pass"? (can you tell what a NEWBIE I am lol)

Boxes: You'll have to get to know your local cigar retailers for a steady source. Sure, someone beat you to the punch...but how much business do they do? Is there on average, a box emptied each day or maybe 5 boxes?
Heck, even tell him what you're doing and strike up a conversation about perhaps selling them through the store.

Ebay has cigar boxes up for auction all the time. I've seen a wide variety. I've got a few I'd be happy to trade for some good sticks

If, you don;t have one already, find yourself a CAO Criolla box - those things are pretty cool. I use mine as a center piece on my cigar shelf to hold cutters, my lighter, etc.

I originally got it to put in a coolidor I am planning, so it would hold singles, but I like it as it is for now - might get myself another empty box or two for the coolidor.

...and it is not weird! Lots of people do collect them. Many of them are very nice looking. My wife loves the cigar boxes - and I love the cigars (it works out great).

i agree about the non-weirdness.
at the beginning of my cigar carreer
i won a box of la flor dominicana 2000's
at a cigar tasting at my local cigar shop.
(that's where my name came from)
got to smoke some w/litto gomez himself
and he autographed my box. i now keep
all my gar memorobilia in there( bands
and cellos from all the ISOMs i have had
and all the smokes from my brother, PB,
and my herfing sessions after passes) i
wouldn't take for that one!
