Smoked my first one of the new Edge Maduro (Robusto) at Cigardawg's yesterday. I must admit, this was a damn fine cigar. Being the "Snob" that I am, I usually stick to premiums (Opus, Anejo, PAMs, 1926s, habanos, etc. I decided to pick up a couple of the new Edge to try out. I was not disappointed.
Construction: Flawless. Beautiful, dark, oily wrapper, very few veins, silky smooth. Prelight draw was spot on and burned flawlessly.
Taste: Mmmmm. Earthy, and quite spicy (but in a good way). Also hints of pepper and "sweetness" about 1/2 way through. All in all, a very tasty cigar. I could of sowrn I also picked up a bit of cocao towards the end.
Burn: Absolutely perfect. No corrections needed, firm, white/gray ash. I smoked this while playing horseshoes and it stayed even throughout.
I would give this a 92 on CA scale. Highly recommended!
EDIT: I may be wrong about the exact vitola here. i never bought or had an Edge before but I believe this is one of the new ones just released. Scot, can you tell me what I bought? :whistling:
