I just walked in the back door after finishing a Perdomo2 Maduro. Specifically the Rhombus.
Absolutely fantastic! I got this in a trade, and I'm going to pick up a box ASAP.
It was very well made, box pressed, with a hint of sheen on the wrapper. It had no visible flaws, and lit very well.
The wrapper was very sweet and had sugary qualities to it. The first few draws were slightly acrid, but almost immediately turned nice. Very thick smoke with a bluish tint to it. That lasted the whole cigar. Good consistency there.
It started off with earthy undertones and a stong flavor of a well spiced apple pie. I thought I could taste hints of cinnamon and nutmeg in there - that was a first. I've never been able to pick that stuff out before.
About halfway through, it changed composition completely. It had a really complex flavor not unlike minced meat. Hints of fruitiness with a solid spice all around. It started sprinkling, so I started smoking it quicker than I would have preferred, but it actually intoduced better flavors as it got hotter! I got a sensation of whisky, similar to Southern Comfort. Not unpleasant at all.
I really enjoyed this and I'm definitely interested in trying the Cameroon variety, too.
All in all, one of the best smokes I've had yet.
