So most of you know that I am deployed right now, and that I am new to Cigar smoking. Well as I have started to really enjoy this new lifestyle I have been trying to include my wife in it as much as possible. What you don't know is this; for the first 3 years of our marriage, I was a 100% dick about her cigarette smoking, to the point where she would start crying because I was so mean. So I feel a bit like a hypocrite when it comes to my enjoyment of cigars.

Any way, to make a long story longer...

She calls me up last night and tells me to start navigating the web, and we end up a at Cheaphumidors.com, the imperfects section, and tells me that she has been looking around at humi's for the house and she ordered this one.

I love my wife.

After talking for about a half hour, she ask to make sure if there is anything that would make it easy for her to keep the humi up and running, so I tell her about the beads and suggest a digital hydrometer, she gives me the go ahead and I pick up the Hydro/calibration combo and 2 2oz tubes from viper.

I know I am going to hear something about needing a bigger one, she already brought that up, and wants to look into a cab when I get home.

After all the crap that I gave her, and I was really out of line, for her to support me this way makes me know that I got it right this time.

Thanks for listening

Tim

Congrats Tim! She sounds like a keeper  Btw...that is a nice humi you got there.

Now that is nice mate.
Let us know when you get home and start filling it Bro. :D

Sounds great bro!! NOw all you have to do is start including her more in the actual smoking :)! I started to include my girl firend more and more and she gave me less and less crap about the hobby...she even knows a boat load about cigars! Oh- and we're only 19 ;). What i'm trying to say is....if you can, ask your wife to smoke with you when you come back to the states, it makes a really nice smoke and of course great conversation and they look damn cute when they're smoking too! I'm looking forward to seeing htat humidor filled up with some premo's!

Right on man. I am in the same boat. My wife just quit smoking however. She used the new stuff called chantix. Its a miracle drug. Congrats on the great wife and the new humi.

Tim......don't beat yourself up too much. It sounds like you've got someone who really loves you waiting back at home, and it'll be sweet when you both can enjoy a smoke together once you return (among other things). :p

Nice.

What are you planning to reciprocate with? :whistling:

Congratulations on the new humi and the great wife!

She does sound like a keeper. :)

Tim,
It's great having a soul mate as your wife is it not? Betcha can't wait to get home.

Stay safe!

That is a real nice one and a great find you have there. And the humidor looks really good too!

So, Household 6 (wife) said that everything made it to the house. She has not unpacked anything yet, and will get to it this weekend. I am going to try to get her to take pics of the unpacking, and seasoning process, as well as the finished product as soon as I get some smokes in it. If I get the pics, I will be sure to post

Tim

Let me give your wife my wife's telephone number

I'm in the market for a bigger humidor and the wife just shakes her head.

We are at day 5 of the seasoning process, the hydrometer is purring at 75/76 in the 75.5 cali bag, so all is right on track. Will introduce a shot glass of distiled water, or rather, the wife will do it tonight. Not sure what the analog hydro is reading in the pic but looks to be super low.

Here are a few pics of the humi in the house.
