Well I just got in my new humidor... just as everyone said would happen I quickly outgrew the small one I began with. I can breathe a sigh of relief now that I have room to expand my horizons :D

a quick question though...

the humidifier when I charged it released a strange bluish tint into the water that drained from it, and also had a very faint almost sulfur odor to it... is that normal? I may have just noticed it more since this one is a lot larger than my last. I won't really be using it as I have a few ounces of heartfelt beads on the way for when it is properly seasoned, I just haven't experienced this and didn't find anything regarding it in searching the forums.

From your description I would assume you were using a foam credo style humidifier of some sort? If that is the case, is it a blue foam? I have gotten them before in green and blue and when I first get them there is a little foam powder from where it was cut on it still. It is just the dust and shouldn't hurt anything if this is the case.

I do now know why it would have smelled like sulfur, PG doesn't have a particular scent to it and is why it is/was very popular to be used as a humidifying solution??

So have you started thinking about what you're going to buy 2-3 weeks from now when you run out of space again?

hah, sadly it wouldn't surprise me if this is the case sooner rather than later.

as far as the humidifier it could just have been foam dust as it is brand new but like I said I won't really be using it as I have had good results with hearfelt beads.. I was just curious.
