hey guys. new here. just got a new humidor and filled it with cigars i bought online. i just started smoking but i noticed they were dried out. so i set up my humidor with a new mod. a little fan connected to a couple 9v batteries. it really lowers the time it takes to get to the right humidity. only about an hour now instead of a day. tell me what you think

Welcome!

We have the same hygrometer! That is...I have one of those for my room (the hamsters don't like it when it gets too cold). Mine's off by a good 10-15% in humidity though.

And how big is that humidor? For a small desktop humidor (which is what yours looks like but I can't really tell), the humidification device included should be enough to hold the humidity at around 65-70%. Did you season it properly?

Looks really nice.
But I doubt that you need a fan for a small humi like that.
Anyway congrats on the first humi, next step is setting up a cooildor.

Well, I meant the humidification device alone is enough for a tabletop humidor. There should really be no need for a fan.

Could you tell us more about the fan? Where did you get it, how does it work

It looks like a computer case fan wired to batteries.

Nice humidor but I am with jepe I doubt you need a fan in a humidor that small. I have a cabnet humidor and am thinking of instaling a fan in there but I don't know if I need it, but I think I just might feel better if I do. You spend so much on cigars you want to protect your investment that will go up in smoke kind of funny if you think about it.

yeah its a computer case fan wired to batteries. ig ot it at radio shack. it does run constantly. im going to try to figure out how to make it run on and off like oust fans to get better battery life. and it doesnt really need a fan but i thought it might help with getting the cigars humidified again.

If anything it's probably taking up space and contributing unneeded heat.
