After listening to Lumberg's brilliant ideas for his wedding day (not sure when that is) I've decided to do the same. I realised I don't have enough stoges in the humi, especially after I remove my premos.

So I'm looking for a box to buy within the next couple days to fill er up. Something that says "Here's a little pin prick" to my wallet ($50) but makes the guests say "mmm, this guys knows his stoges", even though I don't since I'm asking for suggestions on this board.

Any ideas? Obviously something the average joe semi-non cigar smoker would enjoy.

JR Cigars has Fonseca Cedars on sale from $44.95- $59.95. They look and taste good. You also get a subscription to Cigar Magazine with purchase.

Padron Delicias Maduros can be had for a shade over $50 a box

You can't go wrong with a box of Fuente's.....something in the regular line won't set you back too much.

Just don't put any antifreeze in there.... :whistling:

I saw in the "Moments to Remember Section" of Cigar Aficionado, where this couple got a cigar roller to roll at their wedding. That is a killer idea.

I guess boxes are cool too.

If you want to go ISOM. Quinteros are in that price range and then everybody will be impressed that you got them Cubans. I like them and everybody I have given one to likes it too. That is the ISOM stick I usually give out to friends that aren't BOTLs. Don't know if that would be a good option for you but I just thought I would throw the idea at you. Good luck on whatever you decide and good luck on that marriage thing too.

I'd say go with something from the Sancho Panza line, especially the Double Maduros (though that may be a bit strong for your novice cigar smokers). They are all around the $50 mark at cigarsinternational.com.

Good luck with your choice and the marriage.

You could also try the Sherpa Mystic, a little more than you wanted to spend ($60), but I think cigar smokers and non-cigar smokers would both appreciate it. Nobody I have ever given one to has not liked it.

How about a box of the Gran Habano #1, #2, or #3. I personally like the Corojo #5 which is the strongest of the blends. The #2 has a NIC H2000 wrapper and is considered medium strength and the #1 has an ECU wrapper and is mild. SeriousCigars.com has the robusto size for $60 a box, just a little above your price point.

LC-Smoker went with a box of Sancho Panza Extra Fuertes at his wedding. They are medium-to-full bodied, but not high on the strength meter. All of the guests seemed to do fine with them. I agree, something from the SP line will almost always treat you right.

How many cigars are you going to need? How many can come from your stock and how many do you need to supplement with? I like Padron Delicas also, but sometimes when they are young they are gassey. I really like Cuesta Rey's, but the are a little out of your range and come in 10 in a box. The Montesino #1's are 49 a box at JR's right now in the limco deal. ERDM Coronas are in your price range over at JR's.

Wow...quite impressive suggestions. Im thinking one box of 25 will sit fine! I haev a few Jimenes to add in the mix! And thats about it...kind sad.

Looks like Ive got some choices to make!

I am gonna guess there will be more non-smokers than smokers. Most non-smoker can't appreciate anything too complex. And a good number won't like cigars that are very flavorful to smokers. Best off choosing something with very clean tobacco flavor in the light to medium strength level.

I had a roller at my stag party. Everybody who smoked one of his sticks loved it and even the guys that didn't enjoyed the show he put on.

This seems to make a lot of sense.

That being said...what's the recommendation for light to medium? Sounds like a lot of the suggestions listed are somewhat bold.

Sancho Panza Extra Fuertes
ERDM Coronas
Gran Habano #1

???

Edit - I know personally, I had an ERDM Dom Rep the other night, either a choix or a corona, 1st 1/3 i was questioning if I'd ever buy one again, middle 1/3 I was becomming quite impressed at the dramatic change in flavor, last 1/3 I was blown away, felt like I was smoking a cigar filled with dominican coffee beans, definently plan on buying more. I wish I knew which it was, I wouldn't mind if I had some left over...my Cuban Choix could use some company.

I think the ERDM would be the best choice. Perhaps you could get a box from some one on one of the boards. That way they will have had time to mellow the harsh edge and smoke cleanly.
